Ms. Fanar Hanna
Donation protected
Hello,
My name is Julie Waisvillas and I am starting this collection for one of our dearest staff members. Ms. Fanar is an assistant teacher at an early childhood center in the Jefferson Park/Gladstone neighborhood. On Tuesday, April 4th, 2023, on her way walking to work, Ms. Fanar was struck by a car. It was a hit-and-run incident. Although we are all still in shock about what happened, we are so grateful that she is alive.
Ms. Fanar is currently recovering at Lutheran General Hospital. She had to undergo arm and leg operations as she suffered some broken bones. Although there was head trauma and bleeding, she shouldn't (hopefully) need any operations there. Once Ms. Fanar is released from the hospital, she will need to undergo physical therapy. Her doctors are saying it could be months before she can return to work. Although we will miss her greatly, we hope Ms. Fanar gets all that she needs to be well again.
I am starting this collection to help Ms. Fanar pay for medical bills. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. Donations will be sent directly to Ms. Fanar's checking account.
Our staff and Ms. Fanar's husband, George, would like to thank everyone for sending their wishes and for thinking of Ms. Fanar during this rough time. Thank you, thank you.
The link below summarizes the accident and hopefully will gain our local officials' attention https://blockclubchicago.org/2023/04/12/jefferson-park-neighbors-urge-city-to-make-crosswalk-safer-after-woman-badly-hurt-in-hit-and-run/.
