Dear Facebook Friends and Family,
Ms. Amy Taylor has been a Ballet Instructor in the Tampa Area for more than 30 years. Many of Ms. Amy’s students have gone on to professional careers with the New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, David Parson’s, Atlanta Ballet, Cleveland/San Jose Ballet, Buglisi Foremann, National Touring Company of The King and I, Rockettes Radio City Christmas Spectacular and more. Her students absolutely adore her and she has the absolute best work ethic. She and her husband reside in Tampa and they work very hard. Her husband has had multiple health problems and medical conditions, yet stays active helping to provide for their family. Her husband continues to work at a store they own and Amy continues to share her passion of teaching dance with a countless amount of students, along with working several other jobs.
Ms. Amy was born with her eyes crossed. She had her first major eye surgery at the age of 6. She has had a total of three surgeries on her left eye and is currently legally blind in that eye. Her doctor referred her to a specialist that determined she would be a candidate for a newly developed lens that would work for her unique eye shape (oval). For the first time in her life, it would give her the ability to see out of an otherwise blind eye. Her insurance covers the surgery, but not the lens which costs $1500 plus. The surgery could correct her eyesight from nearly blind to 20/15. The surgery will take place this Wednesday and her recovery will depend greatly on her brain being able to adjust to a working eye possibly causing imbalance.
Please help us offset the cost of her surgery and time out of work. Any amount contributed will be greatly appreciated and no amount is too big or too small. She gives so much of herself and this is one way I feel we can give back...
