Hi, First, let me say I don't like asking for help. I'm prideful and stubborn and think I'm invincible and can take care of everything independently. However, life is knocking my feet out from under me once again. I am writing this on behalf of my husband, John.
My father-in-law was recently diagnosed with an aggressive, fast-growing, non-treatable cancer and is not a candidate for palliative chemo or radiation due to other health issues.
We put him on hospice services Monday, so he will be in comfort whatever time he has left.
We went today to pre-plan his services to celebrate his life once he does leave this earth. It's nothing fancy, but the cost sure is. The amount we owe is for everything, a simple casket, services, opening and closing fees, cemetery plot, and headstone. Again nothing fancy. We paid the down payment with the option to pay it out, but the amount has to be paid in full once he is gone.
With that said, here I am, asking for help. My in-laws live on a minimal budget, their burial insurance will only pay $3000, and I would like to try to take some stress off my mother-in-law, who is as much my mom as my own mother was.
We will continue to make monthly payments, have garage sales, or do whatever we can to help get the money needed, but I am here with no guarantee of our time and asking for help.
We appreciate any help and will be very humbled and grateful for all your prayers.
