Hi, my name is Lea Scott I am the proud daughter of Laurence Floquet.
Laurence Floquet is a very well-known ballet teacher in St.Thomas, USVI. Her background in dance is exceptional. She was born in northern France, where she studied in the performing arts. Laurence accomplished multiple achievements with well renowned plays and performances throughout Europe as a professional ballerina. Laurence's passion is simply teaching youths ballet and the performing arts. She has introduced and founded multiple associations, events, open classes, carnival celebrations and etc.. in the US Virgin Islands. Her drive, to share her talents is above anything I have ever experienced. She has dedicated her LIFE and her savings into producing an outlet for the youths to embrace the world of dance in the US Virgin Islands. She runs and operates a dance school called The French Academy of Performing Arts, where she teaches the beautiful art of ballet and other forms of dance to all ages. Her special time of the year is the time where all the students perform in an unforgettable annual recital.
The annual recital is everything wrapped up in one night. This is where my mother becomes not only my hero, but also her students hero.
Unfortunately, just about 1 month ago she went completely blind in 3 days time. I had to quit my career and assist her with everything. We were both scared and confused. For the next 4 days we went to two different doctors and both were unable to concluded why she went blind. The very next day I woke up telling myself I MUST DO SOMETHING NOW.... I then decided to buy my mother an airline ticket straight to France. No questions-No doubts. Unfortunately, due to the last min. situations and financial status I was unable to go with her. Two days later she arrived in France. My family then drove her straight to the nearest hospital where the doctors there conducted different tests.
Six hours later she was in the neurological unit having a "life or death" brain surgery to extract a tumor located in the center of her brain. I had no more than 10 min. to talk with my mother before her operation. I was shocked and DEVASTATED.
I would say just about 8 hours later she was admitted to ICU where she stayed for 21 days... She is currently in a recovery research center. Laurence will need a lifetime of medication and medical equipment.
Unexpectedly, my beautiful 80 year old grandmother has experience a heart attack (she has a pacemaker) after the sight of her daughter (Laurence) traumatizing situation. Both of my loved ones are in critical condition and are desperately fighting to save their life. I am truly alone and in need of help.
Pushing aside my career, my dreams and my aspirations; I have now have taken over my mother's life, waiting for the day she regain's all of her remarkable strength to join me once again. The students miss her dearly and as do I.
I will do my best to keep my mother's hard work alive.
I ask for any amount of donation to help my mother Laurence Floquet in this time of need.
The donation will go straight to the medical bills and treatments.
Your kindness will be greatly appreciated and forever grateful for your generosity. Your donation will make a difference. THANK YOU for your SUPPORT!!!!
