(Our Beloved School)
She will begin her Masters program this summer at Antioch University in New England. The whole program is $33,000 excluding room, board and flights to and from New Hampshire. It is a three year program consisting of 3 on campus summer semesters and 3 online spring semesters. Culminating in a fall semester Masters Practicum in 2019. She currently holds a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Journalism from Emerson College in Boston and attended her formative education in New Jersey.
IN HER OWN WORDS:
"Waldorf Education caught my attention the moment I heard the words "whole child." I discovered a mode of education that values a human being not a statistic. Waldorf education makes teaching feel like I am part of a family, not an institution. It recognizes that children develop at their own rate and we as teachers are not here for our own sake but to stand as facilitators for these fascinating little human beings. I look at a child and see them for who they are, never once thinking of him or her as an A, B or F student. I trust that people process information at their own speed given their culture, family history, and own composition. I believe that children are meant to laugh and love and enjoy the world around them. If my classroom can facilitate those three principles, then I believe I have a chance to make a difference. And, that these young, spirited children will grow into strong adolescents who are still in love with the idea of learning. People are often scared to fail, if you can remove the obstacles that create insecurities and develop a classroom where individuals feel successful, then you have achieved success as a teacher .
I believe in this philosophy with all my heart. Walking into Waldorf Education was like returning home, familiar and comfortable. I feel fortunate to fall asleep every night excited to return to my work. I am grateful to have a group of parents, students, and colleagues who support me in this journey. "
Please help us support our beloved teacher, Amanda, as she continues her education to better serve our children and future generations of students who will benefit from her love and knowledge.
Thank you,
