Mrs. Wyn's Memorial Little Library - A Legacy of Love and Literacy

Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,

I'm reaching out to share a story about my dear mom, Yvonne Wyn, a remarkable woman, teacher, neighbor, and friend who LOVED to read. Her favorite childhood place was the Hackley Public Library; it became her window to the world. Naturally, she became an elementary school teacher and promoted literacy as the key to success in life. She always said, "A good book is a friend that never lets you down." And, "Everything you ever wanted to know is in a book." She truly believed stories have the power to open minds, build connections, and change lives.

She passed in January, surrounded by a stack of books she wanted to get through. I want to honor her in a way that reflects who she was and what she believed, so I've created this GoFundMe to build a small, community book-sharing box as a tribute to her passion for education and literature—a place where people can take a book, leave a book, and keep her spirit of generosity and learning alive. Whether it’s a child discovering their first favorite story or an adult enjoying a juicy mystery, this Little Library will carry forward the lifelong joy she found in sharing books.

Raised funds will go toward:

Building/purchasing a sturdy, weatherproof Little Library structure and installing it at her Norton Shores home.

Stocking it with an initial collection of books she loved—classics, children’s stories, and novels that shaped her life.

Adding a small plaque with her name to dedicate it to her memory. We’re aiming to raise $1000 to cover these costs.

Reading was the gift of a lifetime for mom and I can't think of a better way to keep her light shining in our community.
