Tammy Dobbs has been an esteemed and cherished part of the Anansi Charter School community for over 20 years. As beloved 1st grade teacher, her dedication to the children and the school is unparalleled. Now she faces the challenge of a lifetime. Standing by her son and Daughter-in-laws side as her one-year-old grandson, Elan fights for his life while battling a rare form of childhood cancer.
Tammy has flown to NYC to be with her family as Elan goes into a major emergency surgery to remove his spleen & kidney. Travel costs will put a major financial burden on Tammy and her family. Please consider donating to ease the burden.
It is time for our community to pull together and help support Tammy, who has given so much to our children and our community.

Meet Elan. He was born on December 29th, 2015 to Stacy and David Dobbs in Albuquerque, NM. This cutie was recently diagnosed with stage 4, high risk, metastatic Neuroblastoma, which is a particularly nasty cancer that primarily affects children under the age of five. At just 6 months old, little Elan Kai has a tough fight ahead of him. He will likely be in intensive treatment until at least summer 2017, during which Stacy will have to be by Elan’s side full time. Unbeknownst to cancer, however, Elan is one tough boy and he has a whole crew of people here to support him!
Elan’s parents, Stacy and Dave, are two of the most genuine people I’ve known. Stacy is dedicated in her profession as an occupational therapist to helping others heal and overcome pain and suffering due to illness and injury. Dave, who I served with in 3rd Special Forces Group from 2011-2014, has sacrificed significantly for his country and brothers-in-arms and is now a cadet at the University of New Mexico. Both of them continue to strive professionally to serve others.
Unfortunately, the financial cost of this fight is substantial and the emotional cost is unfathomable to most of us. We here at Team Healin’ Elan are dedicated to alleviating both burdens. Some of the Dobbs’ family and friends have already made generous donations for which they are profoundly grateful. Your thoughts, prayers, likes, and shares for this beautiful, strong, and loving family are appreciated. Please donate and spread awareness.
