Mrs. Shopey's Rock 'n Run 2021
Tax deductible
WHAT IS THE Rock ‘n Run?
It is a school wide event in which all students and teachers participate to raise money for our school.
Students start collecting donations after the pep rally on April 23rd and will run or walk laps during school hours on May 7th (rain date May 10th).
WHY IS THIS A UNIQUE FUNDRAISER?
Most school fundraisers are run by companies that take 50% or more of the profit. Our Rock ‘n Run is 100% organized and run by our PTO and parents volunteers, so Whiting Lane will keep all of the proceeds. Your donation will impact your child’s class directly! Note that Go Fund Me charges a transaction fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per donation, which will reduce those donations accordingly.
Most other fun runs provide junky prizes to motivate kids. The Rock ‘n Run offers class prizes so no one is left out (extra recess, PJ day, no homework day, movie party, a delivery from a local ice cream shop, and more!).
WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF THE Rock ‘n Run?
Make the Rock ‘n Run the major fundraiser of the year, so that other fundraising efforts can be limited. The more success we have with this event, the more we can limit the number of fundraisers the rest of the school year and offer more community building events. We aim to make fundraising a secondary emphasis of the PTO so that we can concentrate our efforts on the needs of our school community.
WHAT DO THE CHILDREN GET FROM THE Rock ‘n Run?
A FREE Rock ‘n Run 2020 t-shirt on run day.
A chance to win fabulous prizes for their classroom.
Fitness-the fundraiser concludes with a day of school unity in which each class will have time to run as many laps as they can on small tracks while listening to music.
