Last night I was made aware of Mrs. Daisy Sheppard. She is a disabled senior citizen widow of a veteran who lives in the Medical Center building in Detroit. Back in February there was a fire in her building and she took it upon herself to relocate her belongings and herself to another apartment while they cleaned the mess. Unfortunately she didn’t have money to pay rent in both places.

She is back in the Medical Center building and that is where she wants to stay because of the accessibility and the support that she gets in that building. Unfortunately, this whole process has left her with a little over $5000 in back rent that she needs to get paid by the end of June. She has enough money to pay rent going forward at Medical Center but she cannot pay the rent going forward and pay the arrears.

Any help that you can give towards getting rid of this debt for Miss Shepherd would be greatly appreciated. She is a very humble woman and I know that she wouldn’t ask so that’s why I’m asking for her.

Ms. Shepard is a friend in our community that my legal career has allowed me to meet and establish a freind relationship with. I never have had to perfrom any legal services for her and she is not a client but I can personally vouch for all the facts and the character of Ms. Shepard. I hope that anyone who can will do anything they can no matter how small it all adds up. We all need a little help sometimes.

All funds will be paid by me to the landlord for Ms. Sheppard benefit and to resolve her debt.
