Mrs. Pike has the opportunity to have her forever home renovated and made ADA accessible by The Property Brothers. So, we need to raise a minimum amount for the cost of supplies and the renovation.
Mrs. Pike had this home started shortly after her husband, Navy Pilot Dennis Pike, was shipped out on the Kittyhawk in 1972. She wanted the home ready for his return, which she is still waiting for. She has recently had health problems and cannot maneuver and use the entire home. Those of us who have been in the home have spent time in the step-down living room, the small family area or dining area. Nobody else can be in the kitchen if she is in there with her wheelchair. We are hoping to raise the money for this renovation to make her home into a more open concept where she can maintain her independence. Many of us have had her not only as a teacher but as a mentor. She has continued to be a spokesperson for the POW/MIA, speaking at many events on the topic and is still waiting for Dennis to return these 48 years later. Any contributions you can make are welcome and appreciated immensely. And, please feel free to share the fundraiser to your friends and family members. We are #lemoorestrong and #militaryproud. #POWMIA
