Tonight Schools North East is fundraising for “Mrs Park’s Park” and the MND Association.

Two years ago, Mrs Park, Head Teacher at Hartburn Primary School, launched a plan to refurbish the unsafe KS2 playground. Her vision was a safe, welcoming space for pupils, but the cost was beyond the school’s reach.

In June 2025, Mrs Park was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease and had to step away from teaching. A deeply respected member of the community, she has been met with overwhelming support. Friends of Hartburn Primary School are now committed to completing the playground in her honour.

Mrs Park and her family are also being supported by the MND Association which is why we will also be supporting the work that they do. Helping them to help others.
