Mrs Park's Park - Playground Refurbishment

Two years ago, our Headteacher set us the challenge of raising money to refurbish the KS2 playground as it has become unsafe due to tree roots growing through the tiger turf. Mrs Park's vision is to create a safe and friendly area where pupils can play, socialise and relax between lessons. The challenge was a big one - the last quote, 4 years ago was £45k, a cost that the school could never afford.

During June 2025 Mrs Park was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease which has resulted in her having to step away from her teaching career. Mrs Park is a well respected member of the school community and the outpouring of love and support to her and her family has been phenomenal.

Friends of Hartburn Primary School have made it our mission to fund the playground that Mrs Park wished for and to dedicate it to her. Mrs Park has kindly agreed to help us to design the space and we will work with her every step of the way until it is finished.

We knew that raising the funds for the project was going to be a challenge, but not as challenging as the battle that Mrs Park is facing right now.

Let's do this for her and make the lasting legacy of a truly amazing lady for the children at Hartburn Primary School.
