Mrs Kathie needs a reliable vehicle

If you’ve ever dropped off or picked up your child at Water Spring Elementary, you’ve probably been greeted by Mrs. Kathie McDaniel — our beloved crossing guard who waves, smiles, and starts our mornings with her trademark “Friday-Eve!” cheer.

She isn’t just there to help kids cross the street — she’s a friend, a confidante, and a constant bright spot in our community. Her kindness, humor, and caring heart have touched countless families over the years.

Last year, our community rallied together when Mrs. Kathie suffered the heartbreaking loss of both her mother and her husband within just weeks of each other. Thanks to everyone’s generosity, she was able to take a little time off to grieve and cover urgent expenses. She has never stopped expressing her gratitude for that support.

Why She Needs Our Help Again



This time, Mrs. Kathie has fallen on hard times once more — her car broke down, and she’s now borrowing a vehicle just to get to work. Unfortunately, that borrowed car has no working air conditioning, making every Florida summer day a challenge, especially when she’s out in the heat all day keeping our children safe.

She needs a reliable vehicle to get to and from her crossing guard post, run errands, and handle daily life without the stress and discomfort she’s enduring now.
