Mrs. Cheatham touched the lives of so many who passed through her classroom doors over the years, and her unexpected passing in May 2020 leaves us without a way to properly grieve or honor her.  She will always be remembered for her calming, quiet spirit and love for her family, students, and friends.  Laurie taught at Bell's Crossing Elementary  in Simpsonville for many years.  Laurie loved to be outdoors and found comfort and peace on her porch, often visiting with family and friends.  For this reason, we are raising funds to build a memorial for her at Bell's Crossing Elementary that will give staff and students a quiet, shady spot to gather together.   In the courtyard, volunteers will construct a deck and cedar pergola with a seating area for gathering.  Your donation will go towards the supplies for the construction and plaque that will remind all who enter about our teacher and friend, Laurie Cheatham.
