Jeremy Giberson funeral expenses
Donation protected

My name is Susan Hull, I am a cousin to Jeremy Giberson's grandmother, Alice Higley (deceased). I have known Jeremey since he was a baby and have enjoyed having his daughters come over and help clean the corners of my house I can never get to. My heart aches for the loss these young ladies have had occur in their lives.
On January 18 there father Jeremy passed away. He leaves behind his wife, Jennie, and 4 daughters, three daughters who are still at home and one who is attending Lower Columbia Community College in Longview, Washington. The last two months have been a struggle for the Giberson family. Before Jeremy’s passing, the family had their home flooded and Jennie lost her car in that flood. She had been working in St. Helens, Oregon, which is about a 45 minute commute and had been unable to go to work since the flood. She is unable to replace it because of still owing money after insurance. Jennie is the one supporting the family because Jeremy had been unable to work for a few months prior to the flood. With all the financial strain the family has had they are unable to cover the cost of Jeremy’s funeral. I am starting this “Go Fund Me” account to try to help the family pay for those costs. The following is a letter written by his daughter, Charise, telling what her family has been through in the past two months.
“This past month or so has been exceedingly difficult for our family. On the night of December 8 we were awaken by a pounding on the door. It was a neighbor telling us the fire department was helping people evacuate and we needed to grab our things. Looking out of our door we realize that there was a river running through our front yard and it was above the bottoms of the doors on our cars. The fire department told us they couldn't help us with our animals so we chose to stay at our home. By about one o’clock in the morning our cars were emerged in the flood waters, the alarms started going off, the engines were humming, the lights were flashing and the trunk of my mother’s 2014 Dodge Dart came open. Our family decided we need to get out before it got any worse. We got our dogs and hedgehog into a basket and trudged out of our home in thigh deep, freezing cold water. When the water had receded we went to our home to find all of our cars had been completely destroyed. About half an inch of mud coated the interior of them all. We also found the insulation under our home was completely destroyed along with all of our heating ducts and we were unable to heat our home.
While trying to figure out how to get our life back together, my dad got very sick. On December 30 he started having chest pains and a numbness in his body. At the hospital emergency we were informed that he was having respiratory failure and they had to intubate, so he could get oxygen in his system. His body was filling with carbon dioxide. They had him in this state for 2 weeks struggling to keep his oxygen levels stable. When his stats were good enough on Friday, January 15, they removed the tubes and he was talking and joking. Early Sunday morning his stats plummeted with over 150 percent carbon dioxide in his blood. Our Dad returned to our Heavenly Father Monday evening, January 18, 2016. We will miss our dad. He was fun loving and cared for us deeply.”
I know nothing can make up for the loss this family has incurred. No one can take the place of their father. But trying to help remove some of the finacial burden will assist them in moving forward. Any assistance you can give them will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
