MRI needed to save Rolo’s mobility

Donation protected
4 weeks ago, I underwent major jaw surgery which has led to a blood clot on my lungs, a further operation, and potentially a third. I am still off work recovering and as if things couldn’t get harder, my little Rolo has now fallen ill too

Rolo, my 4-year-old Cavapoo, has always been the most playful, gentle, and loving companion. Yesterday, he started with a limp and within 24 hours he had completely lost sensation in his back legs — leaving him unable to walk or control his bladder. The vets believe it’s a spinal issue (IVDD), but until he has an MRI scan, we won’t know the full extent of the problem.

Right now, he can’t stand up and he’s in a lot of pain. I am heartbroken. The MRI alone costs £3,500, and the cost of spinal surgery could be up to £7,000. The first urgent step is raising enough for the MRI so we can understand what’s wrong and give him a chance at treatment. We do have insurance, but it only covers £1,000 per separate issue, which sadly doesn’t come close to covering the costs of the MRI or potential surgery.

I haven’t even been able to tell my son Kairon yet, as he’s already been through so much over the last four weeks, and this news would break his heart too.

If anyone could be kind enough to donate, even £1, it would mean the world to us. Every share, kind word, and donation will help give Rolo the fighting chance he deserves.
