Support Lori's Battle Against Breast Cancer

Donation protected
My name is Shawna. As a lot of people know by now, our mom, Lori, was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. Since she shared this news, many people have reached out to ask how they can best help her as she navigates this process. This was a difficult question for her to answer as she is the one that tries to take care of everyone however she can, and now she is the one that needs our help. Since we have so many wonderful and caring friends/family who do not live close, we thought this would be an easy way for people to provide help from far away.

As you can imagine, going through this journey isn’t easy. From treatment itself with all the physical side effects, traveling to and from appointments, on top of all the costs between medical bills, travel, and living expenses, it all adds up quickly.

Please consider donating something towards this so we can help provide for Lori during this difficult time. These funds will be used towards treatment supplies, gas to travel back and forth to appointments, meals for the family, etc.

Thank you so much for helping Lori. And of course, your continued prayers and words of encouragement are needed too!

A note from Lori:

Dear Family, Friends, and Kind Strangers,

On March 5th, 2025, I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. Getting the news was hard to handle for my husband and me. Knowing that the breast cancer I have is invasive and aggressive, we didn’t have a lot of time to decide what the plan was going to be other than where I was going for treatment due to the concerned look on the doctor's face. We chose to go to Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, 1.5 hrs. each way from home. I was able to get in there quicker than staying local. On April 15th, 2025, I got my official diagnosis of Stage 1 TNBC. Even though it is Stage 1, there was no time to waste on making decisions because of it being an aggressive cancer.

My lumpectomy was done on May 12th, 2025, and chemo started on June 17th, 2025. Radiation will follow 3 weeks after my last chemo treatment for 5 straight days. After my radiation is done, then there is the removal of my Medi Port. Our daughter Shawna has stepped up to help my husband and me out by taking me to my appointments so he can continue to work. I can work from home on my off weeks, which helps. Medical expenses, treatments, travel for appointments, and everyday living costs add up quickly.

That’s why I am reaching out for your help. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in easing our financial stress so we can focus on what matters most - helping me fight this cancer.

Your generosity will go toward:
  • Covering medical bills and treatments
  • Support daily living expenses
  • Travel expenses

If you’re unable to donate, please share this with others. Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. Your support means more than words can express. Thank you for standing strong with us during this journey we are on.

With gratitude,
Lori
