Hi guys, I want to introduce you to Ernest Kwadwo Owusu Ansah , a 5year old boy who lives in Ghana with his mom Irene Ockrah-Anyim..
In September 2018, Ernest developed a swelling on his neck.
After various tests and an eventual biopsy done in December 2018, he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Hodgkin’s Lymphoma is a rare but curable cancer affecting part of the immune system. Ernest turns 6 years on the 18th of February 2019 and is the biggest bundle of joy.
Ernest lives in Accra, Ghana and has been undergoing chemotherapy treatment at the Korlebu Teaching Hospital in Ghana. In Ghana, due to the lack of medical facilities, most kids like Ernest undergo chemotherapy as a first choice since there aren’t other treatment options. Additionally, these treatments are expensive and are paid out-of-pocket during every visit. Right now, proper care and pediatric oncology facilities are inaccessible, and the duration and efficacy of his treatment is unknown.
Fortunately, we have found a better option at The Wits Gordon Medical Center in South Africa but unfortunately, we need to raise $11,400 urgently to get the treatment done since it is a growing tumor. This amount includes the cost of treatment, transportation and accommodation for the 6-week period of treatment.
Ernest’s mom is a single mother who has been stretched to the fullest financial capacity due to his medical care since his current treatment is out-of-pocket. This new treatment offers the chance for a faster recovery, but we need your help to make this happen.
