Help with vet bills for Angel Ino, Rogue & Gambit
Hello, my name is Stacie and I am the furmom to cats Ino, Odin and Sakura and dogs Mr. Watson, Gambit, Miss Rogue and Miss Josey.
July and August have taken a toll on us. It began with Ino (cat) getting very ill. She was hospitalized and put on fluids and IV antibiotics. The next morning Gambit (corgi) was vomiting bloody mucus and had bloody stool. I rushed him in where it was determined that he had hemorrhagic gastroenteritis. Two weeks of ondansetron, famotidine, antibiotics and a cerenia shot and he is better.
On July 18th, Rogue (Aussie) had a seizure. She was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy last March and put on Levetiracetam and Phenobarbital. She hadn't had a seizure since last April 2020. She's now had 7 seizures since July 18th. Both of her medications have been increased and we have added a third seizure medicine but 2 of the 7 seizures came after the increase and additional medication. She has another appointment next week to check her phenobarbital levels since it was increased. Those appointments run a little over $200. Then it will be time for medicine refills which are about $60 a month. She'll do it again in 30 more days and then every 6 months. This is a lifelong thing for her.
During the time Gambit was sick and Rogue was suffering from repeated seizures, we were continuing to try and save Ino. We gave her 2 weeks worth of subcutaneous fluids twice a day 4 different antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs prescription food - we did everything we could.
Despite all of our efforts, we lost her August 27th. She was only 8 years old and was my oldest son's best friend.
As you can imagine, we have incurred over $3000 in vet bills since the beginning of July. I've received help from several friends and have been trying to weave and sell my baskets to help cover what I've spent out of pocket. I'm not good at asking for help but I need it. I'm behind on several important bills because I took the money for them and paid the vet bills.
I would be happy to show proof of the vet bills and receipts for medications. All you have to do is ask.
If you are able to help, it would be greatly appreciated. If you aren't in the position to donate, can I ask that you please share this?
Thank you so much,
Stacie
