Past and Present Plew families: I'm looking for your help!

My daughters and I have been talking for several months during morning drop off at Plew Elementary about the gentleman that works at the school who appeared to walk home. The girls told me he works at both the daycare and in the cafeteria. I was hoping he worked “because he wanted to and not because he had to” and the same for walking—maybe he lived close by and walked for exercise.

I asked around if anyone knew if that was the case or if he had a need for transportation. I was told his car broke down and he lives in Bluewater Bay, so he is often there for 12 hours +/- because he cannot get home in between shifts. I also confirmed that he has to continue working for a few more years in order to receive retirement income. He does not have the money needed to repair his car, but he is still working hard for our children.

I reached out to the school and got permission to try to raise some money to help go towards his car repair. I know there are many Plew families who would love to help if they can! I've been so thankful for many, many caring teachers and support staff our family has benefited from over the last eight years. We certainly don’t want to see him outside walking or biking in the rain and colder months coming. Certainly, our family is not alone in seeing him and wondering if he needs a helping hand.
