Help Us Build a Masjid in Africa – Sadaqah Jariyah for Mr Sardar Ali and their charitable nature.
“When a person dies, their deeds come to an end except three: ongoing charity (sadaqah jariyah), beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for them.”
(Muslim)
It is with love, remembrance, and sincere intention that we are raising funds to build a small masjid in Africa as sadaqah jariyah for my beloved great grandfather, Mr Sardar Ali, who peacefully returned to Allah swt on 25th January 2026.
Honouring a Life of Service and Kindness
Mr Sardar Ali dedicated his life to serving others and strengthening community bonds. For decades, he worked tirelessly across faiths and backgrounds, earning the respect and affection of countless people.
He was a cornerstone of Princess Street Mosque in Burton, serving as Chairman during the late 1990s and early 2000s, where his leadership, wisdom, and gentle manner helped shape the mosque into not just a place of worship, but a true centre of unity, support, and compassion.
Beyond the mosque, he served for over a decade as a magistrate, carrying out his role with integrity, fairness, calm judgement, and a deep sense of responsibility. He was widely known for his humility, sound judgement, and genuine care for the wellbeing of others. He leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and selflessness — one we pray will continue to benefit him in the Hereafter.
The Masjid Project
We are raising £8,190 to fund the construction of a small masjid in an underserved community in Africa through a trusted charitable appeal.
This masjid will:
- Be a place for daily salah, Jummah prayers, janazah prayers, and Islamic learning
- Act as a community hub for education, unity, and support
- Provide a safe and dignified space where the remembrance of Allah continues every day
Every prayer performed, every ayah recited, every child who learns about Islam within its walls will, insha’Allah, be a source of continuous reward (sadaqah jariyah) for Mr Sardar Ali.
How You Can Help:
We invite you to contribute whatever you can — whether large or small — and to share this page so others may also take part in this beautiful, lasting charity.
May Allah accept this effort, forgive Mr Sardar Ali’s shortcomings, grant them the highest ranks in Jannah, and place immense barakah in this masjid for generations to come.
Ameen.
Many thanks from,
All of Mr Sardar Ali’s family
