An important message to my friends about my health:  I have been diagnosed with prostate cancer.  It's never a good diagnosis but I have a good prognosis—if I move quickly and get a lot of help.  I am a natural teacher and performer, but it is not easy for me to ask for help.  I know, however, that I need the support of friends and this incredible community, so here is how I hope you will feel compelled to help me while having some Rudy-style fun (with tennis and salsa lessons. See below).
 

My request and my offer:

I could have a $50,000 surgery here in the US that is invasive and requires many weeks recovery, OR,I can choose a highly effective procedure (tentatively scheduled for July 10th) offered in Germany.  This procedure makes no incisions, eliminates prostate cancer in 90% of cases, has treated many similar cases over 20 + years with few to NO side effects, little recovery time and comes with a cost of $17,000. (The asked amount includes my travel and stay in Germany.)

I am not able to afford health insurance, as I am an artist, so I am boldly asking that you help me pay for this procedure so that I can quickly get back to taking care of my students in Austin.

My amazing friends are coordinating and hosting a 2-day tennis camp/fundraiser on Saturday and Sunday, June 30th and July 1st. If tennis isn't your cup of tea, there will also be a professional salsa instructor to teach some sizzling summer moves.
