Our friends Paul "Mr. Misha" Stanley Niklewicz and his Other Half Misha could use a little of help from their Friends (that's us!) 

As most of us know, last November Paul begun experiencing health complications that took him in and out of the E.R., the hospital, the imaging machines, back home, back in ... it took forever to find out what ails him so much.  Without repeating all his travails, but since you might wish to have a name attached to this situation, his diagnosis is Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction (Diastolic Heart Failure) and Constrictive Pericarditis. 

Paul is scheduled for heart surgery this November, giving him enough time for another procedure (ugh) and recovery from said procedure. Recovery from the surgery is expected to take through the Spring of 2021. 

Paul has not been able to work since he fell ill - November '19. Misha has been exhausting her vacation and sick days, and is actually already walking the thin line of possibly losing her job (and with it, their precious health insurance.) The joy of their lives, Ms. Ruthie, has had her own health issues, and needs to go visit the vet, but she can't go because there are no funds. 

We would like to raise $25,000 (about $1,500 a month, as it were) to make sure Paul and Misha can pay their rent through Paul's recovery; to make up for bills that couldn't get paid during these past 9 months; to keep the lights on; to keep the Internet humming; to pay for all the meds Paul needs for diabetes and his beautiful little heart – Donut Hole anyone? 

Please help our good friends if you can. However you can. All of us who love Paul and Misha appreciate your participation. 

We all wish we lived in a place where we didn't have to use GoFundMe to make sure someone's financial life doesn't turn inside out because of illness. But we don't. The task is on us.
