Mr. Mike Fitzhugh

If you're here, it's likely because you know and love Mike and Debra Fitzhugh. We are starting this Gofundme for our dad Mike Edward Fitzhugh. As some of you may already know. Mike Fitzhugh was diagnosed in January of 2008 with hepatic failure.  In August of 2010 Mike Fitzhugh received a liver transplant from The university of Alabama at Birmingham hospital (UAB). Shortly after the transplant in 2014 Mike was diagnosed with Renal failure, Mike was then started on Dialysis and would continue dialysis up to June of 2022.   In 2019 Mike Fitzhugh’s liver started to fail again. He was put on the transplant list again but he would have needed a liver and kidney. However, Mike was not able to remain on the list because of the condition of his illnesses. In the last year Mike has become very sick.  He ended up getting a diabetic foot and losing circulation in the lower part of his leg leading to an amputation. He since then has rapidly declined. Mike was admitted to the hospital June 6, 2022 the doctors have said his liver and kidneys are no longer functioning at all. Mike fitzhugh was officially put on Hospice on June 7, 2022 they gave Mike an estimate of two-three weeks. Any money raised will be used for funeral cost. Mike does not have life insurance due to not being eligible because of his terminal illnesses. Mike has chosen to do hospice from his home to spend the remainder of his time with those closest to him. We Thank you in advance for any help that you are able to provide.
