It is with great sadness that Birch Copse school community recently lost our much-loved headteacher, Mr Micklewhite, who led our school for nearly 19 years. During that time, he shaped the lives of over 1,500 children and their families. Through kindness, high expectations and an unwavering belief in every child, Mr Micklewhite helped create the Outstanding school community we are so proud of today.

Many parents, former pupils and friends of the school have asked how they might honour Mr Micklewhite’s memory. In response, we are raising funds to create a lasting memorial within the school grounds so that future generations of children will continue to benefit from his legacy.

Any donation, however small, will help us create something meaningful in memory of a truly exceptional Headteacher.

The PTFA are supporting the school in this memorial fundraiser. Mr Micklewhite was an incredible supporter of the PTFA, always so proud of all that we achieved and so thankful for the positive impact it had on the children.
