The purpose of this perpetual fund is to honor the memory of Steve Meharry, through sponsoring Teen Pathfinders who may not otherwise be able to participate in the annual Upper Columbia Conference Teen Pathfinder Mission Adventure (TPMA).
Mr. Meharry faithfully served so many through the years. He dedicated his life to the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) in many capacities including deacon, Sabbath School leader, committee member, Pathfinder Director and youth mentor. For many Pathfinder young people, Steve is best known as the Waiilatpu Pathfinder Club as Director in the College Place SDA Church, serving for 26 years.
Besides directing the Waiilatpu club, in 1996, Mr. Meharry co-initiated the ministry known as Teen Pathfinder Mission Adventure (TPMA). This event provides an opportunity for Teen Pathfinders to donate their spring break to serve communities in the Pacific Northwest. He devotedly continued to be the spiritual force leading this ministry until his passing October 7, 2020.
Mr. Meharry was a member and actively involved in the College Place SDA Church. So, in the unlikely event that TPMA ceases to function, the balance of this fund will be donated in the name of Steve Meharry to the College Place SDA Church, located in College Place, WA. The Fund Council will recommend to the church that the funds be used to maintain their Youth Center, in which he Steve served for many years as committee member and chairperson.
Thank you! Your thoughtful donations, no matter the size, mean so very much and will be greatly appreciated by the Teen Pathfinders who, because of your support, will have the opportunity to serve as Jesus did …. and as Steve did! Note: The fund may also be used to assist with subsidizing TPMA projects.
Mr. Meharry will forever be remembered by the youth he mentored as saying …
“Remember, God loves you!”
PS - Donations are held at the College Place Village Church which was Steve's home church at the time of his passing. Fund are used to support Pathfinder Teens across the entire Upper Columbia Conference and have assisted teens from as far north as Sandpoint and south as Pendleton to date.
