Mr. Frodo is in need of surgery within the month. He was possibly the runt of his litter or has some form of dwarfism, and his front legs developed with several slight medical deformities, with the right one noticeably worse and a source of pain and discomfort for him in his wrist and elbow. To overcompensate, his right paw has started turning out to the side and he has started favoring his left leg. Our vet took several x-rays (it seems there might also be a broken off fragment of bone in his elbow, adding to the pain) and referred us to other specialists for a surgery called a corrective osteotomy. We went to two consultations and were quoted very expensive, very invasive surgeries with long recovery times. The third surgeon gave us another option for half the price, half the recovery time, and a much less invasive surgery, but it is dependant on his growth plate still being slightly open, so we need to move on the surgery quickly before that growth plate closes. He is already a year old and almost done growing, so this leaves us very little time to come up with the money. We would deeply appreciate any & all financial help to get our baby feeling comfortable and pain-free. He is still so young and we want to set him up for a happy, healthy, active life as best we can.
