Mr. Dibble to D.C.

Donation protected
I'm going to start by saying I'm not totally broke.  Had to get that off my chest.  Speaking of chests, my treasure chest isn't overflowing by anyone's definition.  So please fund me and send me to Washington D.C. with my history students.

My name is Bryan Dibble, that's Mr. D if you are an 8th grader at Selah Middle.  I teach US history.  Our community has a World Strides tour group called D.C. Bound.  D.C. Bound helps kids raise money over the course of two years to travel to DC and New York. The kids learn about the fascinating history of our great country.  America is great, and don't I know it!  (Remember, I'm the history teacher!)

The trip is happening in June of 2017.  I'm committed to go, but still lacking dough.  I need to make the final payment of $2500 by the end of March, 2017.  The trip takes us from Washington State to Washington D.C., then to NYC.  We have 25 8th and 9th graders on the trip, and I'd like your help to send me, their beloved history teacher, to keep them on track educationally speaking.  Not just tell them cool facts that the tour guides don't even know, but to tell them some jokes.  I'm good at making them laugh.  They need me.  Think of the kids.

I've been committed to teaching history for 22 years.  My students always participate in Veterans Day celebrations, engage in many class debates and projects that inspire patriotism, and even publish two weekly newspapers. One is a journal of news and stories, The Selah Sentinel, and the other is about military history, titled Years of War.  I involve my students in everything civic-minded folks can think of and I get involved in their projects too.  Now I'm involved in DC Bound along with them and need some help.  I've been a busy teacher and missed some bake sales...  short on funds, and short on time.

Funding me will put me with my students where I can do the most good for them.  Helping me raise the tuition for this trip will relieve me of the financial burden thereby placing me in a postition where I can do something for you while seeing the sights in D.C. and New York.  I propose to write a blog chronicling every step of the trip, and allow donors to feel like they are right there with us.  I'll narrate the entire trip, including interviews of the kids, pictures of all the great sites, and for donors of $100 or more, I'll mail you a t-shirt that says, "I Love NY" with your name on the back.  I will.  I'm not kidding. That's the least I can do for you.

The kids in my rural Eastern Washington community are all eager to see the sights of our nation's capital.  I've taught them all about our Constitution and our rich and diverse history.  I want them to love our country like I do. I really want to be there to see their eyes light up at the Iwo Jima memorial.  I want them to take a deep breath on the steps where Martin Luther King Jr. revealed his dream.  I want to see my students walk in New York at the place where George Washington was sworn in as the first president.  Fund me.  Please.  Help me help my kids learn more about this trip than what they would get from the regular tour.  Send their teacher, and I'll tell you all about it.  Every remarkable moment.
