Mr. Darcy's Cancer Fund

Mr. Darcy has been a part of our family since he was 9 weeks old. He has made me, his mom :), a better person and has touched so many lives in addition to my own. His favorite toy is his squeaky ball and he loves to fetch it for hours on end. He is one of the most popular "staff" members at Hudson's Bay High School where I work and he loves to visit the kids for pets, scritches, and kisses. It is because of them that he thinks his name is "GASP! A CORGIIIII!" and that his favorite words are "school" and "Bay."

Darcy was diagnosed with a tumor on his liver on January 23rd. We don't know yet what kind of cancer or if it has spread, but it is currently not causing him any pain and seems to be growing slowly. It is possible to do a small-needle biopsy of the tumor, but due to the size and shape of it, this biopsy poses some serious health risks that need to be considered. Because of these considerations, we are weighing the choice to plunge straight into surgery, which of course is a more costly option though it does avoid some of the risks of the biopsy.

We have been quoted close to $10,500 for the surgery though I am "shopping around," for lack of a better term. Please do not feel obligated at all to contribute, you are welcome to simply follow for updates, however any amount received will go directly to Darcy's medical bills to help keep him around for many more years to come. :) Darcy is a special little guy and I know a lot of people care about him besides me and his immediate family <3 Thank you!!!
