Hello, I’m Scott – or as my students know me, Mr Burton. Next summer, I’ll be cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End: nearly 1,000 miles of hills, rain, midges, and tractors. Why? Because I clearly make questionable life choices. But more importantly, because I want to raise money for two brilliant causes:
Warriner Plus – an alternative educational provision that gives young people the chance to thrive. Alongside a solid core education (English, maths, science), students gain vital life skills and hands-on vocational experience. It’s about preparing them not just for exams, but for adulthood, independence, and future opportunities.
ADHD UK – the UK’s leading neurodiversity charity, supporting children, adults, families, and professionals to better understand and embrace ADHD. Their work empowers people to see ADHD not as a limitation, but as a different way of thinking and achieving.
Both organisations give young people opportunities they might otherwise miss, and they deserve every bit of support… even if it means I spend weeks in questionable lycra.
What I’m Expecting:
- Weather so grim even penguins would complain
- Hills designed by someone who hates cyclists
- More flapjacks, gels, and service-station sandwiches than any human should legally consume
- And the joy of 8+ hours a day alone with my thoughts (send help)
Why Donate?
Your donation won’t make the hills smaller or the rain lighter – but it will keep me pedalling when my body is screaming at me to stop. Most importantly, every penny will go directly to Warriner Plus and the ADHD UK, helping them continue their life-changing work for young people.
So please: donate, share, and laugh at my suffering. I’ll be wobbling from one end of Britain to the other – all for two truly worthy causes.
Thank you – and may the wind be behind me (though, let’s be honest, it probably won’t be).
