To all my students, their parents, my colleagues and friends: after fifteen years as a STEM teacher, ol' Mr. Bryden has decided to pursue an exciting opportunity co-founding a company to teach the principles of artificial intelligence to middle school students everywhere.
Fryden Learning Machines has taken in about $35k over the last year as a weekends-and-evenings-in-the-garage company. We already have happy students, corporate friends, a proven curricular model, and a rock-solid partnership at the helm.
John Fry, the other half of Fryden, has offered to match the funds raised here as his own investment in the company. Our goal is to raise enough capital through friends and family donations to rent a small office and pay Mr. Bryden a living wage for six months in order to further develop the curriculum/hardware/marketing and legally establish both a Fryden LLC and nonprofit foundation for corporate fundraising.
At that time, Fryden Learning Machines will prepare a proposal for a significant outside investment to scale our operations for the years to come.
To take a look at a Fryden Learning Machine, which students build and train themselves, visit www.fryden-learning.com.
Any donors who contribute over $500 towards this enterprise will receive a plaque at Fryden headquarters acknowledging their contribution to the company's adolescence.
The future has arrived! This generation in school right now will live their entire adult lives amid artificial intelligences and machines that learn. Careers in machine learning and data science are among the most lucrative and in-demand jobs of the coming decades.
Fryden Learning Machines has simplified the mathematics and theory behind neural networks to the point where we can teach young people what is happening inside a Siri, Alexa, or self-driving car, and our students learn more STEM in our week-long camps than in any other setting we know of.
Teachers are emailing from far away asking for Fryden kits. The founder of Arduino loves our work and stands ready to assist us in scaling our device. School districts, after school technology classes, and technology summer camps are our customers and our STEM content is perfectly timed. We already have teachers and assistants trained and ready to scale our camp operations in 2020.
It is an exciting time at Fryden Learning machines. Contributions of any size are greatly appreciated and your money will go towards launching the entrepreneuring career of a passionate and dedicated educator. Thanks!
