My name is Erin (Bevington) Frenzel, I am Mike’s daughter. My dad was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive malignant brain tumor on November 11th. There is no cure. It is inoperable because it’s located in an area of the brain where it can’t be removed. Radiation may give us some precious time. It has become suddenly apparent that his remaining life will be brief and the most important gift we can give him is time. We are reeling from shock and excruciating grief as are the many friends, students and musicians that know and love him.
If you know my dad, you know he is pure joy, light, love and humor wrapped up in an incredible human. He’s never met a stranger. The thought of his joy no longer being with us is unfathomable and will leave an incredible void in all the lives who knew him.
We have talked to dad, we know that the one thing he wants more than anything in the whole world is time with his family. This GoFundMe fundraiser will help to provide him the gift of time with his family. Simply put, that is it. Time to sit with him, time to have last precious talks, moments and laughs without the burden of having to cobble together working, very limited sick days and vacation time while he is going through this, which will ultimately significantly reduce the amount of time we will be able to spend with him. It will give a reprieve from the worry and pressure of paying home expenses when we should be sitting with him and helping my mom. If my dad is able, we would like to take him on a final family trip and of course there will be medical expenses. This is the most precious gift that can be given to my dad. Quality time.
We would love your prayers, and any and all messages you send will be read to my dad.
GoFundMe made me pick a goal number (a required field)- please know we have no fundraising goal. We do not expect anything and we are thankful, so very grateful for your love and support and any gift you choose to give. We would love your prayers for my precious dad.
Much Love, The Mike Bevington family.
