Brandon & Randi J Rooks are organizing donations for the beloved beach walker, Mr Alex (aka Tan Man aka The Silver Fox). We are OKI residents who have been friends / neighbors with Mr Alex and his family for many years. His daughter Alexia let us know that Mr. Oak Island has had to pause his 16+ miles a day beach walks the last few months and as of May was diagnosed with metastatic adeno carcinoma. As of June he is now under hospice care.

Donations are simply a love offering!!! They will be used at Alex and his children's discretion.

He told me that all he really asks for is our prayers but we know the community wants to show more love so let's do it!!

Thanks for the outpouring for this staple in our community!!! It has been such an encouragement to see the care and respect for him. The family is so appreciative!
