Hello Everyone!
This summer I am taking a journey to volunteer at a small childrens home in Makuyu, Kenya. These children have left their families in order to learn, and eventually gain the skills to leave poverty.
Currently I am pursuing a degree in instructional technology and would love to teach these children how to use technology in order to gain new skills, but also understand how technology works. Technology is a valuable skill for students and upcoming young professionals to achieve in order to exit poverty.
I am raising money to buy 1 ipad, or 2 chromebooks when I arrive in Kenya to donate to the children of the Makuyu Educational Initative. The more money we raise the more technology these students have to help them learn and grow.
It has been my dream for years to go to a high poverish area and make a difference. I plan to teach in the childrens home all subjects, and having the resources that technology brings would truly make a difference. I will also be volunteering with random jobs throughout the childrens center the entire the month of July.
