Medical Expenses for Kris
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
I am starting a GoFundMe page, to help my son, Kris. As many of you know, he has been dealing with kidney issues for a long time, and I would greatly appreciate some help.
Here is just a glimpse into what Kris has been dealing with:
- At the age of 18, Kris found out that he had a kidney autoimmune disease called IgA Nephropathy.
- Kris made several trips to Halifax (from PEI) to see Kidney Specialists.
- When Kris was 24, his kidneys had failed. He needed emergency dialisys.
- The dialysis was one year, and he recieved a call that they had a matching kidney and he had to be in Halifax for the transplant the next morning.
- This kidney lasted 7 years.
- In 2019, the kidney started to reject. The kidney team did as much as they could but in the end it was a full on rejection. Because of the fault of a doctor, Kris' blood sugars spiked to 73, and he was hospitilized.
- Kris then needed dialysis again. In October 2020, he began dialysis in at the Dartmouth General. This lasted two and a half years, with complications along the way.
- Recently, he was called and told that there was kidney for him, and he would have another trasnplant.
- Everything has been good so far and after a month at the VG, he's out of the hopsital.
- Kris will also need a Parathyroid surgery in June.
- Kris will be on sick leave at least until August.
I'm asking for the public's help, because he is now on EI, along with his wife who is on Maternity leave until December.
Due to the transplant and other factors due to the new kidney, Kris is on a lot of medication, and they are expensive, some not covered by medicare.
Please consider donating, every bit counts and please do not feel like you have too!
Thank you in advance for all your support!
