Meet Natalie. She is twenty-three years old and an artist.
You may already know her; maybe she makes your coffee just how you like it where she works at Espresso Bueno in downtown Barre, and she gives you a smile every single day; maybe she teaches your child at Moving Light Dance, and you've watched her rolling around on the floor with her students, learning how to communicate with them. Natalie loves and values the communities she is a part of, and the people who create them.
If you don't know Natalie, the first thing you should know about her is that she is full of passion. The greatest of her passions is classical ballet, and her goal is to join a professional company within the next two years. In order to do that, Natalie needs more training, and she needs it now. The Burklyn Ballet Theater program is a six week summer intensive that takes place is Johnson, Vermont. At the intensive, Natalie can take three ballet classes a day, rehearse classical ballets in the evenings, and perform a different ballet each Saturday. She will learn skills that every ballet dancer must have, such as how to dance with a partner. Most importantly, the sheer amount of dancing will hone Natalie's talent and build her strength, enabling her to approach professional auditions in the fall and winter with the best preparation possible.
The pursuit of ballet is an expensive endeavor. The tuition for a six week session at Burklyn Ballet Theater is 6,250 dollars. That is why Natalie is turning to her community for help. Take this opportunity to support a local artist, and help a young woman come one step closer to realizing her dream. Any donation will make a world of difference to her.
