Help Christine Through Her Breast Cancer Journey
Christine — someone many of us know and love — is facing breast cancer.
And right now, she needs her community.
---
Hi everyone,
My name is Devin, and today I’m reaching out for someone many of you know and love.
Christine — one of the incredible admins of Booktok Canada — has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.
Before sharing more about what she’s facing, I want to tell you a little about who she is. Christine is one of the kindest, most compassionate people I know, and an incredibly devoted mother. She homeschools her two children, in part to support one of her kiddos who lives with a severe allergy. She’s built a life for them that is not only safe, but full of love, care, and everyday magic.
In early March 2026, her family’s world shifted overnight.
Because of where they live in Quebec, Christine now has to travel approximately 2.5 hours to Montreal for testing, specialist appointments, procedures, and potentially treatment. These trips will be frequent, and the costs — gas, parking, food, time away from home — add up quickly. On top of that, this brings major disruptions to a carefully structured home life that her family depends on.
As many of us know, cancer doesn’t just take a physical toll — it brings emotional and financial strain as well. There will be ongoing expenses for travel, as well as items to help her through treatment (hair loss coverings, accessible clothing for port access, comfort items, and more).
Where your support will go:
- Travel costs: Frequent 2.5-hour trips to Montreal (gas, parking, meals)
- Medical-related expenses: Items needed throughout treatment and recovery
- Comfort & care items: Hair loss coverings, accessible clothing for port access, and supportive essentials
- Family support: Helping maintain stability at home for her children during this time
Our goal is to relieve as much of the financial stress as possible so Christine can focus on what matters most — her health and her family.

I know things are tight for so many right now, and there is absolutely no pressure. But this community is so powerful — if you’re in a position to give, even a few dollars truly add up and can make a meaningful difference for Christine and her family.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean just as much and helps us reach more people who may be able to support.
We’ll be sharing updates here as she’s comfortable, and Christine will also be documenting parts of her journey on her social media.
On behalf of myself, her friends, and the entire Booktok Canada team — thank you. Your kindness, support, and even just taking the time to read and share this means more than we can put into words.
