Help Seek Justice for Nala: Urgent Fundraiser

Dear Friends and Family,

It is with a heavy heart that I share the devastating news that my beloved dog, Nala, has passed away. Nala, who was only four years old, underwent emergency surgery after complications from her spay procedure. While the surgery to remove the herniated disc pressing on her spinal nerve was successful, her condition worsened. She developed myelopathy, a catastrophic deterioration of her spinal cord that led to total paralysis and the loss of lung control. Tragically, there was no cure for this condition, and no medications or treatments could relieve her suffering. Faced with the heartbreaking reality that she would endure a painful death, we had no choice but to put her to sleep.

This all began after Nala was spayed at People for Animals in Hillside, NJ on October 10, 2024. When I picked her up, while other dogs walked back to their owners, Nala was handed to me, completely limp, with no mention from the clinic that something had gone wrong. I had specifically informed them that Nala had a history of back issues and asked for reassurance that she would be okay during this routine procedure. They assured me she was fine to proceed. In hindsight, it's clear they knew something wasn’t right—why else would they have handed Nala to me instead of letting her walk out like the others?

I am continuing this GoFundMe to help cover the costs associated with Nala’s emergency care and her passing, as well as to seek legal action against People for Animals. I feel compelled to fight for justice on Nala’s behalf, to hold those responsible accountable for their negligence.

Ayuda para Buscar Justicia para Nala: Recaudación Urgente

Queridos Amigos y Familia,

Con mucho dolor en el corazón, comparto la devastadora noticia de que mi querida perrita, Nala, ha fallecido. Nala, quien tenía solo cuatro años, se sometió a una cirugía de emergencia después de complicaciones derivadas de su procedimiento de esterilización. Aunque la cirugía para remover el disco herniado que presionaba su nervio espinal fue exitosa, su condición empeoró. Desarrolló mielopatía, una catastrófica degeneración de su médula espinal que provocó parálisis total y la pérdida del control de sus pulmones. Trágicamente, no había cura para esta condición, y ningún medicamento o tratamiento podía aliviar su sufrimiento. Ante la desgarradora realidad de que soportaría una muerte dolorosa, no tuvimos más opción que dormirla.

Todo esto comenzó después de que Nala fue esterilizada en People for Animals en Hillside, NJ el 10 de octubre de 2024. Cuando fui a recogerla, mientras que los demás perros caminaban hacia sus dueños, Nala me fue entregada completamente inmóvil, sin ninguna mención por parte de la clínica de que algo había salido mal.
