Hamilton High Senior Fundraiser: Camp Sunshine

For more than 36 years, Camp Sunshine has been offering people ages with developmental disabilities the opportunity to attend summer camp in a safe, caring and inclusive environment. Camp Sunshine is designed to be intentionally inclusive where individuals with special needs are welcomed and loved for who they are. 

Camp Sunshine's mission is to provide an experience to campers that provides so much more than a summer camp experience. Campers participate in a variety of activities, such as zip-lining, horseback riding, boating, swimming, art classes, a talent show, and so much more! 

But the camp experience reaches far more than just our campers. EVERY camper is paired 1 on 1 with a counselor for the entire four days at Camp- many of those counselors coming from the Hamilton area. Over the four days that campers and counselors spend together, their lives are changed as they learn to look past differences and embrace an environment where everyone is loved "Just they way they are".

By supporting Camp Sunshine, you will help them meet their goals of expanding their program to reach more participants. Finally, Camp Sunshine and Hamilton's Senior Class is teaming up for an extra challenge this week, and that is to get 10 boys and 10 girls from Hamilton signed up to be counselors in August 2020. If we meet this goal, the 20 counselors' donated time has a monetary value of $36,000!
