Hi I’m David and Yes, I lost some things too, but those are replaceable. What really breaks my heart is what my roommate lost. He came to Canada to build a new life from scratch. While I’m still exploring my own path, he chose to settle down and do everything the right way. Step by step, he built his home—starting with just a mattress, then little by little adding a washer, dryer, furniture. He even gave me his bed and bought himself a new one.

Now, all of that is gone. He doesn’t have insurance, which means he truly lost everything he worked so hard for.
