Hi, my name is Bronwen and I am fundraising on behalf of Conny Hörnchen, founder of Lokku's Dogs and Cats Care based in Sri Lanka.

This is a blurb taken from their website "Our shelter is located on the east coast of Sri Lanka, near Trincomalee. We shelter dogs and cats that would not survive on their own on the street or are sick. We also feed and treat animals on the street and regularly neuter a large number of dogs and cats. Making owners aware of their animal’s needs, educating them, offering them free neutering is as much a part of our job as teaching children about animal welfare." Conny, along with Nimal Nirojan (a Sri Lankan local with extrensive experience in helping animals, who is also the co-director of Lokku's Dogs and Cats Care) began with six dogs and now have one hundred and fifty street dogs and fifty cats in their care.

Animal shelters in Sri Lanka are far and few between. This particular one is the ONLY shelter in the east coast of Sri Lanka and the nearest vet hospital is a mainland city, Kandy, which is hours away.

Conny Hörchen found her life purpose when she was traveling Asia and found an injured street dog that she named Lokku and she has spent decades helping these beautiful animals and the community. Lokku' Dog and Cat Care is funded by donations and if you are able to gift a large or small amount to help me reach the goal of £400, it will change lives, it will save lives.
