Support Mike’s fight against Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Lucero Martinez and as many of you know I fought and won my battle against cancer. Unfortunately, cancer has hit close to home once again, my sister in law Kaylee’s dad, Mike, has been diagnosed with cancer and it’s progressing quickly. What started as some elbow pain and swelling in the legs, turned into the worst news for his family. On May 30th he went to the ER for leg swelling. They diagnosed him with a fluid filled cyst behind the knee. He Took antibiotics and water pills but never got better. It went from that to a malignant neoplasm of the lung. His CT scan one month ago showed a 5.5 cm mass in his right lung, right up against his heart. At the ER today his mass showed it had grown to 6.5 in just one month. As of right now the pathologist doesn’t know if it's from the melanoma he had in 2014 or if it's a new lung cancer. Even the Mayo Clinic has reviewed his biopsy results and calls this a "challenging case". Everyone that knows Mike knows that he puts his family and everyone else before himself. He has worked everyday up until yesterday when he was in so much pain he couldn't move. Today Mike went to the ER and they admitted him. The cancer is progressing fast and most likely inoperable and to make matters worse the doctors don’t know exactly how to treat it. Everyday his family has more questions than answers. Mike is 51 years old. He's been stabbed, shot, he’s been thru more in his life than most people have experienced. He’s in so much pain. He doesn't deserve any of this. He'd give the shirt off his back to anyone that needs it. Mike has 4 daughters, a wife, grandkids, and lots of people who care for him. He is the main provider for his wife Jane and daughter Kaylee. Since he has been admitted to the hospital and hopefully starting treatment soon, he will not be able to work and this will affect his family greatly. If you can find it in your hearts to donate to help Mike and his family we would greatly appreciate it.
