Natalie medical Expenses

Donation protected
Hello everyone my name is Danielle Warner and I am setting up this fundraiser for my 12 year old niece Natalie Warner. Up until September of 2022 she was a healthy and active child. She was one who loves to play softball, hang with her friends, loves arts and crafts, and cheering on her favorite team the Buffalo Bills. It all started early 2022 when she went to her annual check-up. For those of you who don’t know us her father David Warner was diagnosed at a young age (14) with a rare kidney disease called FSGS. So at her check-up we asked for blood work and urine sample to test some levels of her kidney function. Unfortunately her levels came back abnormal, she was then referred to see a nephrologist in August. They of course ran more blood work, her numbers worsened from the previous blood work. They then ordered a biopsy to be done of her kidney on September 8th 2022. After two long weeks we received the news on September 26th 2022 that we did not want to hear, Natalie as well has FSGS. We obviously knew what the end outcome would be, that she would eventually need a transplant but in the meantime her doctor has recommended she do lasix and albumin infusions since she is steroid resistant (just like her father). Fast forward to January 2023, her creatine numbers just seem to keep rising. She is at 15% kidney function and falling fast. Her doctor finally had sent over a referral for her to see the surgeons at Tampa General Hospital to have her kidneys removed and be put on dialysis. The timeline right now looks like this will happen in March or April. We have selected to do the peritoneal dialysis cycler. She will be connected to this machine everyday at night for 8-10 hours. She will have to take a lot of medication that her body will need and she will be on a very strict diet. When it comes to the transplant she will be put on a living (A-) donor list and a kidney transplant list. Anybody young enough with a (A) blood type will be considered a donor. We are currently awaiting for further instructions but all while this has been going on she is still active with softball, she is on a travel team that’s based out of Pinellas county. She also is very successful in school, maintaining Honor Roll while being in gifted and honor classes. I as her aunt am reaching out for help for the medical expenses that will be coming their way. Considering this is not my first rodeo of going through this. I also know it takes a community to raise a child so I ask for those who can’t financially help please pray for her success and her doctor’s wisdom and steady hands.

Thank you
Danielle

Update 2/9/23
Natalie has been in the hospital for two days now because her insurance has not approved her infusions. Unfortunately, her numbers have gone up some more and now the surgeon has been involved. If her insurance approves it in time, her surgery for the removal of her kidneys and for her tubes to be put in for dialysis will happen 2/16/23. If insurance does not approve it in time her surgery will be moved to 2/23/23. Please pray as we venture on to the next steps!

Thank you
Danielle

Update 2/13/23
Natalie’s surgery is a go for 2/16/23

Update 2/17/23
Natalie’s surgery was successful. They removed both kidneys and put in both dialysis tubes. Her pain is being closely monitored as she is still experiencing a lot of it. But her sassy self is coming back.

2/25/23
Update on Natalie: Natalie is making great progress, the only thing we are stumped on is her elevated blood pressure. She will remain in the hospital for hopefully only a few more days as they try to figure out why her blood pressure is so high. Otherwise Natalie is ready to go home! Her tubes are healing nicely and she’s doing great on hemo dialysis. #warnerstrong
