Our family was visited by tragedy today. Our dear friend, our big labradoodle Ginger, darted into traffic and was hit by car. He is still a playful puppy, just a huge one.

He was run over and suffered a broken pelvis. We were faced with an awful choice. I am told that he can be fixed with an orthopedic surgery since all his vital organs are fine, but it will cost about $5,000 to fix his pelvis. We don’t have that, but the only other option would be to put him down, which would break our hearts.

He is part of the family, and we hate to have to think in terms of dollars for a boy we love, and who loves us back. But we are just crawling back from years of our own medical bills.

If we can get a little help to save our big fluffy baby it will mean a lot to us. Anything will help.
