Hi everyone, my name is Scarlet. I’m a self-employed dog walker and I adopted my best friend, Al, just two months ago. Sadly, he recently suffered a life-changing injury to his leg. After visiting a couple vets, it was clear that he needed major surgery as soon as possible.

The surgery cost £7,000 in the end and as any dog owner knows, you’ll do absolutely anything to make sure your dog is okay. Two weeks on, Al has now developed an infection and requires ongoing care and medication. Unfortunately, I’m starting to struggle financially.

Due to the severity of his injury, I’m currently unable to work as Al needs constant care at this time. This means my income has stopped completely, while his expenses continue to grow. He may still need X-rays, further treatment, or even additional surgery, and in the worst-case scenario, amputation if the infection doesn’t clear, though I’m praying it never comes to that.

I’m raising funds to help cover Al’s ongoing medical care and recovery so I can continue to give him the best possible chance at a pain-free life. I’m incredibly grateful for any support and for anyone who takes the time to read and share our story.
