Help a Survivor & Her Son Stay Housed While She Builds a New Life
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out to ask for your support for a courageous young mother in our community who is facing an urgent crisis. After surviving years in the sex industry from a very young age, she’s worked tirelessly to turn her life around. Now 34 and a single mom to an 8-year-old boy, she’s enrolled in medical assistant school and is determined to build a brighter future for herself and her son.
Despite her hard work and resilience, she and her son are currently facing homelessness after escaping a domestic violence situation. She was able to secure housing and pay the deposit, but is struggling to cover the first month’s rent of $1,650. She’s reached out to multiple organizations for help, but resources are limited, and time is running out.
Here’s her story in her own words:
“I’m a single mother living in Stockton, CA with my 8-year-old son. I’ve faced a lot of challenges since my teens, including time in juvenile hall and the California Youth Authority. Throughout it all, I’ve had the support of mentors who became like family to me.
Recently, my son and I escaped a domestic violence situation that left us homeless. I’m now enrolled in medical assistant school and doing everything I can to keep us safe and off the streets. I was able to pay the deposit for a new place, but I’m struggling to come up with the $1,650 needed for the first month’s rent. I’ve called countless places for help, but haven’t been able to get the support we need in time.
I’m reaching out because I don’t want to go back to the streets. I want to give my son a safe home and a better future.”
Any amount you can give will help keep this mother and her son housed and allow her to continue her education and healing journey. If you’re able to share or donate, it would mean the world.
Thank you so much for your kindness, support, and for helping a family in need.
If you have questions or want to offer direct help, please feel free to message me.
