A few years ago, my mom received the diagnosis that shattered our world: end-stage renal failure. Since then, every day has felt like a battle she never deserved. We’ve watched the strongest, most selfless woman we know fight through exhaustion, pain, and fear—yet she still tries to smile so we won’t worry. It’s heartbreaking to see someone who has spent her entire life caring for others now struggling just to make it through each day.
My mom loved her job at a nursing facility. She brought laughter, comfort, and companionship to elderly residents who adored her. She lit up every room she walked into. But her body simply couldn’t keep up with her. ER visits became constant, medical bills kept piling up, and eventually she had to stop working—something that broke her spirit as much as her finances.
My mom urgently needs a kidney transplant. Although she is on the waiting list here, we were told it could take up to 10 years before she receives a donor. Thankfully, a relative in the Philippines connected us with a foundation that specializes in her condition, offering her the chance to receive treatment much sooner. To move forward with the surgery, however, we need financial support.
But we can’t walk that path alone.
My family and I are asking for help—something we never imagined doing—because this surgery and the recovery ahead come with costs far beyond what we can manage. We want to give my mom the chance to live without pain, to laugh again, to return to the people she loves, and to be here with us for many more years. Every contribution—no matter the amount—brings us one step closer to giving my mom the healthy life she deserves. Thank you for your generosity, support, and prayers during this difficult time.
