Hurricane Heroes
Donation protected
As I'm sure you have, I've made donations in various places for victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Maria. I'm sure our money helps, but the need is so great I want to do more. Since I do not have the resources to do so, I wracked my brain to come up with an idea that would provide a way to do so. I decided I would like to publish an anthology, and donate the proceeds to a couple of charities. The money would not be received by the charities immediately, of course (such is the nature of book sales!), but I would do monthly donations on behalf of participants once the book starts selling.
I am starting this GoFundMe campaign to raise initial capital to cover the cost of publishing the anthology, so I can pay the authors for their stories, pay a cover artist, formatter, etc. I am doing the editing myself for free, and I will be publishing the anthology. ALL proceeds will be donated to the two charities below on behalf of Hurricane Heroes, the name I have given to the authors who have generously agreed to participe in this project.
I want to get started right away, since the need is NOW, but realistically, I would like to have the anthology out by January 1, 2018.
To be clear, I am not making ANY money from this endeavor. ALL proceeds from book sales will be donated to help the charities provide money to assist people who need food, water, shelter, and basic supplies for their everyday lives.

One America Appeal (Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands)
