“They ride tricycles in the hallway, not in the park. They know the names of their chemo instead of their classmates. Nurses and doctors are their new family. Their laughter will make a heart melt. Their strength will make a grown person cry. If you’ve ever seen a kid fight cancer, it will change your life forever.”
And just like that, our lives were changed forever a month ago when we received the news that most families fear. My nephew Moyses(9 years old) was diagnosed with cancer. Osteosarcoma to be exact, a type of Bone Cancer on his right fibula. Doctor’s give us a high percent of survival rate and we remain very strong in faith. However, there are a lot of medical costs that come with it. This fundraiser is set up to offset some of the medical expenses and to assist my brother, Luis and Gaby, with the financial burden. Anyone that knows my brother will agree that he is a very hard working man that never asks for anything and tries to help people in any way he can.
At this moment, he is on medical leave from work, but unfortunately, will not be paid for the duration of his leave. In order to keep their medical insurance active and cover Moy’s treatment, he has to pay for it out-of-pocket during this time, on top of all other medical expenses.
If you would like to assist, any donation will be greatly appreciated. All funds raised will go directly to Moy’s medical cost and related expenses.
On behalf of my brother, Luis and Gaby and the entire family, I appreciate the outpouring of love, prayers and support shown over the past few weeks and undoubtedly in the months to come.
