update: 4/30 @ 10:55 am Friends, I just received a video of Carmen moving and opening her eyes. She shook her head yes 2 times, when her baby girl was talking to her.

Update: 4/29 @ 4:20 She has been completely taken off of all sedation and still no sign of seizures. She has not woke up yet. They said it can take awhile, due to how heavily sedated she was.

Update: 4/29 @ 2:58pm They have completely stopped one sedation medicine and lowered the other at this time she has not had any seizures! Praise Jesus. All of our prayers are heading towards Carmen showing a response soon.

Hello, my name is Hannah Johnson and I am Jeff’s (Mox) niece. Jeff and his family are in EXTREME need right now. Jeff’s wife Carmen is detrimentally ill. Less than 2 weeks ago, she appeared to be an extremely healthy 38 year old woman. Last week she began to have a bad migraine in the back of her head. On day 3, Jeff finally got her to go to urgent care. They sent her to the ER immediately. Multiple tests were performed, including a CT scan of her head. Nothing was found. They sent her home. The next day, she was worse so Jeff took her back to the ER, still nothing. The day after that, she had worsened and so Jeff took her for a third time, unfortunately this time wasn’t so easy. They found multiple brain bleeds and a blood clot in her brain. Her ferritin levels were fatally low. That hospital decided it was best to transfer her to Celebration (53 minute commute) hospital in Florida, where she could be treated with more specialized care. On the way to celebration, Carmen’s body began to fight back. She had multiple seizures and a stroke. They stopped transport intubated her, inducing her into a coma to life flight her. During the lifeflight, they had to stop due to inclement weather and put her back in an ambulance. Upon arrival to celebration, Carmen received medicine for the clot. It wasn’t working so they performed an emergency surgery to remove the clot. It was successful, however she was still having seizures. They have medically slowed her brain waves to almost flat line, in order for her to rest and stop the seizures. Yesterday, they removed a ton of mucus from her lungs. They begun to lower the sedation. Carmen was showing signs of seizing, so they stopped. On top of all this, because Carmen’s paperwork is stuck in the system…she cannot get insurance. Jeff is self-employed and does not get paid for the time that he is taking off to be with Carmen and the kids. Together, they have 4 beautiful children who are very confused, heartbroken and just want their momma to be healthy again. Carmen is one of the kindest, most caring and beautiful humans that I’ve ever met. She is selfless and always giving. She is a faithful servant of the Lord. She is a ray of sunshine to every person that she meets. So, please, anything helps. Prayers, donations, sharing this account…we so desperately need it all.
